What this connection does
Synemer connects to dYdX using your wallet address. The journal reads your public trade history from the dYdX indexer, so no API keys or passwords are involved.
Your address is encrypted and only used to look up your trade data.
Before you start
You need a dYdX Chain address starting with dydx1, from the dYdX app or a supported wallet.
Use the address of the sub-account that actually placed the trades. Synemer reads sub-account 0, which is where most trading happens.
Find your wallet address
Open the dYdX app and check your account menu. Your address starts with dydx1 and is shown there.
If you trade from another sub-account, note that Synemer reads sub-account 0 for now.
Add the connection in Synemer
In Synemer, go to Settings and then Connections. Choose dYdX as the broker.
Paste your wallet address and save the connection. The first sync walks back through your fill history and then keeps itself up to date.
What syncs automatically
Synemer brings in your closed perpetuals trades, including fees, plus your current open positions.
dYdX keeps roughly two years of indexer history, so most accounts sync completely on the first pass.
Troubleshooting
If nothing imports, check that you pasted a dydx1 address, not an Ethereum 0x address.
You can remove the connection at any time from the same settings screen.
